Birthday Greeting from George and Laura Bush

How to Receive an 80th Birthday

Greeting from Our President

One of the most cherished gifts to give someone who is turning 80 is a personalized Birthday Greeting from our President. Imagine receiving this special letter signed from our President wishing you a Happy 80th Birthday.  These cards are only sent to people who are 80 or older. Planning ahead for this gift is the key. It is recommended to send in your request at least six weeks in advance but due the popularity of this request it is better to send yours several months early. Anyone can send the request on behalf of the honoree. When my mother turned 80 she received a letter from President George Bush signed by George Bush and Laura Bush.

To qualify for a birthday greeting you must meet the following requirements:

  •  You must be a U.S. Citizen
  • You must be turning 80 or older for the Presidential Birthday Greeting

Write a letter and Include the following information:

The Name and Home address of the honoree.

  • Include the form of address such as Mr., Mrs., Dr., Miss, etc.
  • The month, day and year of birth.
  • Your name (if requesting for the honoree) and daytime phone number.

Mail your requests to:

White House
Attn: Greetings Office
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington D.C. 20500

Fax your request to: 202-456-2461

You may also submit your requests to your states U.S. Senator or U.S. Representative.

Mail your requests at least six weeks in advance of the birthday to allow enough time to process. The official White House Greeting should arrive to the honoree’s address about 14 days before their birthday.

Note: The President will also send Presidential greetings for 50 plus years’ anniversaries, baby’s birth, weddings, Eagle Scout Award, Girl Scout Gold Award, Bar/Bat Mitzvah or equivalent.
